Description

San Diego is a biodiversity hotspot! Ready to help us celebrate and document all living things through this community science project?

The South Bay BioBlitz will be happening at 5 locations simulatenously!

  • Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge will be bilingual in partnership with Fauna del Noroeste and San Diego Refuges.
  • Emory Cove
  • Grande Caribe in partnership with Coronado Public Library. Guided walks led by the library will occur at 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM extending this particular event location to 12 PM.
  • Port of San Diego Sweetwater Bikepath (Yes, bring your bikes!)
  • Kendall-Frost Marsh Preserve in Mission Bay in partnership with UCSD Natural Reserve System. Attendees will also be asked to help prepare the new field station for the upcoming ribbon cutting and grand opening!

Select your location when registering and we'll email you directions on where to find us.

Bring your binoculars, cameras and a cell phone. (Binoculars will be available to borrow)

We will be photographing all things wildlife - birds, plants, insects and anything else you can find and reporting it to iNaturalist!  Don't worry, we'll show how to download the app to your phone, add our specific project and guide you through uploading your findings.
